I was very surprised when I found Machu Picchu. I saw strong stone buildings and a beautiful palace. The city had temples, towers and fountains. People lived there and worked as farmers. They built terraced fields and grew food. It was an amazing and powerful city, but suddenly people left it and no one knows why.
