Pompeii — Помпеи
Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near Naples and Mt Vesuvius, a volcano in Italy.
Помпеи были древним римским городом недалеко от Неаполя и вулкана Везувий в Италии.
It was a busy city and its narrow streets were often full of people.
Это был оживлённый город, и его узкие улицы часто были полны людей.
In the centre of the city there was a large marketplace and a forum.

There was a large amphitheatre and two smaller theatres where people watched performances.
